Paramount Pictures treated fans to an exciting behind-the-scenes glimpse of the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. In a captivating two-minute-20-second video, director Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell shared their exhilarating experience shooting a daring car chase sequence on the bustling streets of .
The footage shows Cruise, handcuffed to Atwell, skillfully maneuvering cars with just one hand. They started off in a black SUV but soon switched to a tiny yellow Fiat 500. Cruise took to Instagram to express his excitement, admitting that he had never been involved in such a high-octane car chase scene. “We’ve done car chases in Mission: Impossible movies before, but nothing like this one,” he wrote in the caption.
McQuarrie explained that they let the city dictate the nature of the chase. The chaotic traffic and cobblestone streets made the driving incredibly unpredictable. However, the most thrilling aspect was the fact that Cruise and Atwell were handcuffed together. “Tom’s main concern was not crashing with Hayley attached to him,” shared McQuarrie, breaking down the details of the sequence.
